A smart speaker with a built-in screen from Apple? It sounds like a dream to many – and maybe that’s what the Cupertino company is working on.
According to a new report, Apple may have a Google Nest Hub-like gadget on the drawing board. A product that could be used with the HomePod Mini and the built-in sensor that is disabled in the speaker.
There are many uses for a HomePod with a built-in screen. Just look at the Nest Hub and how useful it is with the practical information and support of Google Assistant.
Voice control your smart home gadgets, check the weather directly on the screen, have video calls and check out your favorite recipe when you cook. Or why not see who rings the doorbell with your camera ring clock?
Of course you can have an iPad instead if you want, a desktop screen that is cheaper has several advantages. And now that the first generation HomePod has run out of time, there is room for a new, improved speaker with a touch screen.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman was the first to report on the upcoming product. However, there are many uncertainties that remain and Apple has, as usual, declined to comment on their news.
