Apple has just released iOS 14.4.2 and iPadOS 14.4.2 for all users. A little before the distribution of the next major update for the iPhone and iPad, Apple is once again addressing important security improvements with this update.
The week ends with another update: Apple has just distributed the update to iOS 14.4.2 and iPadOS 14.4.2 for all users. If you can’t see the update just yet, wait a moment. As usual with updates from Apple, the update will be gradually distributed to all users.
Apple closes further security gaps in iOS and iPadOS 14
With the update to iOS 14.4.2 and iPadOS 14.4.2, Apple fixes various other security problems in iOS and iPadOS. Previously, Apple had already fixed a serious bug in WebKit, the browser engine of iOS and macOS, when they released iOS 14.4.1 and iPadOS 14.4.1.
Anyway, in a few days or, at best, weeks, iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 will appear for all users and bring various practical new functions and further improvements.
IOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 are currently in the fifth beta. New in the upcoming update is the function of unlocking an iPhone with FAce ID despite the mask, but an unlocked Apple Watch with installed watchOS 7.4 is also required for this.
