In July of 2019, Amazon announced it would renew the show for a second season. The news broke through the official Carnival Row Twitter account. Reports suggest the series will begin production in November of 2019 taking the crew to different locations besides studios in the Czech Republic. There were eight episodes in the first season of Carnival Row, and each one lasted between 50 and 67 minutes. So we may see the same or even more episodes in the second season depending on the plot.

When will Carnival Row Season 2 be released?
Although the show’s filming was stopped midway in March of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is still no official release date for Carnival Row Season 2. Furthermore, Marc Guggenheim won’t be the showrunner for Carnival Row Season 2. Besides his busy schedule, one of the show’s creators Travis Beacham left the show before the second season started. The reason was a creative conflict.
The Carnival Row Season 2 kicked off immediately after the lockdown was lifted. Only two weeks were required for the team to finish up, thus wrapping it up in late August 2020. Carnival Row Season 2 is expected to arrive in late 2021 or early 2022. The first season of Carnival Row can be streamed right now on Amazon Prime.

Travis Beacham, one of the show’s creators, has left the production, citing creative differences.

During the last season of Carnival Row, Philo investigated murders and dug deep into the mythical world. Jonah and Sophie joined forces with Vignette and Philo as they fought the powers. All the mythical and magical creatures were freed to go, giving a new life to Carnival Row. Still, a number of unanswered questions remained, such as what happened to Philo and his personal history.
