The Coop store chain now offers digital receipts. All that is needed is the Coop Scan & Pay app when you shop in a store. Later in 2021, there will also be support for digital receipts on coop.se and in the regular Coop app.
For a long time, it has been possible to get digital receipts in stores such as ICA, Hemköp and Willys. And now Coop is finally jumping on the trend of digital receipts.
To take part in digital receipts at Coop, you must use the Scan & Pay app. It is available for both Android and iOS, completely free of charge.
The goal is to make it easier for consumers and create added value. Among other things, by using artificial technology to analyze consumers’ purchases and provide smart, automatic purchase proposals.
Carita Weiss, Head of Payments at Coop, says in a press release that they want to guide to a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle. However, we are not entirely clear about how digital receipts and healthy lifestyles are connected.
In the same press release, Carita also says that paper receipts are limited in their design, and that they want to make the receipt more vivid.
