EA now announces that they are putting full focus on the upcoming Battlefield that will be released this year, this means that Need For Speed is delayed.
EA has already confirmed that we have a new Battlefield to look forward to this year and it seems to be true considering that EA is also investing its second studio in Sweden, Ghost Games from Gothenburg to assist in the next Battlefield.
Ghost Games has already started working on the next Need For Speed game, but this must now be paused as Battlefield is in focus this time, as it looks now, the next NFS game will be delayed until 2022 at the earliest.
Laura Miele, chief studio officer at EA comments on the following:
“There’s no way we would have made a decision like this without including [Criterion] and discussing this with them first, and the impact that they could have on Battlefield, They’ve worked on [Star Wars] Battlefront, they’ve worked on Battlefields, and they have a really tight, close collaborative partnership with DICE. I’m really confident that this is going to be a pretty positive win for them. ”
Now we just hope to see and hear about the new Battlefield very soon considering that the game will actually be released this year, but probably the end of the year.
