EA shuts down the development of Anthem

Anthem

Anthem has now more or less really died as Bioware will now stop developing the game and invest resources in other projects.

Throughout February, we have largely been waiting to be notified by EA if they will continue to bet on Anthem or if the game is really completely dead.

EA has now announced together with Bioware who are the developers behind the game that they choose to shut down the development and instead invest the resources in developing Dragon Age and Mass Effect which Bioware is full of now.

According to Bioware so the development of Anthem 2.0 has not really gone as one had hoped for and this with working from home has really put sticks in the wheel and production went very slowly.

However, the Anthem servers will not be shut down, it will be possible to play Anthem for a while, but do not expect any major updates to the game. The positive is that the upcoming Dragon Age and Mass Effect looks to be able to be really good as all focus is on this, one can only hope that Bioware ever learns from its mistakes that they have had in recent years with new games.

Game development is hard. Decisions like these are not easy. Moving forward, we need to laser focus our efforts as a studio and strengthen the next Dragon Age, and Mass Effect titles while continuing to provide quality updates to Star Wars: The Old Republic.
