Tinder introduces the new Vibes feature that allows you to answer challenging questions about yourself directly in the dating app.
All questions and answers are displayed directly on your profile page and make it feel more alive to visitors. In addition, you get the chance to reveal a little more about yourself to those interested.
Of course there is a catch with Vibes. And it is that the function is a so-called event function that only works on selected occasions.
When it is activated for your particular account, you will receive a notification in the mobile phone. Then you can answer questions and display them on your profile page for the next 72 hours.
If other users in your vicinity answered similarly to their Vibes questions, you will be automatically matched in the app.
Every opportunity to answer Viber questions has a window of 42 hours, so it is not an overwhelmingly long time to keep track of your app.
– Your Tinder profile should reflect an authentic image of yourself, and that image often changes as you explore who you are, what you want and what is happening around you. We built Vibes to make the profiles as dynamic as the users themselves while giving them more matches along the way, says Udi Milo, VP of Product at Tinder.
Those who match via the Vibes function get the opportunity to text chat as well as video chat.
Find matches outside Sweden with Tinder Passport
Another feature recently launched is the Tinder Passport. A function that allows you to find matches outside Sweden if you want.
Until April 30, 2021, the feature was free for all users. Today you are required to have a Tinder subscription to use Passport; it works with Tinder Plus, Gold and Platinum which cost from SEK 165 per month.
Do you find the Finnish, Danish or Norwegian language a bit tricky? No problem – thanks to a collaboration with the language service Duolingo, you can translate to more than 40 different languages directly in the Tinder app.
If you were one of the first 100,000 to try Passport then you may have noticed that the first month of Duolingo Plus was free.
Vibes will be rolling out to all users during the latter part of May. Tinder is currently available in 190 markets and supports more than 40 different languages. The Tinder apps have been downloaded more than 430 million times and 60 billion (!) Matches according to Tinder’s press release.
