Moto 360 Gen 3 is now updated with Wear OS H-MR2

Anyone who buys an Apple Watch knows that the smartwatch receives regular updates for several years. With Wear OS, on the other hand, what you get in your smartwatch is a bit of a gain and loss.

This applies not least to the latest model in the Moto 360 series. A model that does have some Motorola branding left, but is actually made by a company called eBuyNow.

And if there is one thing that eBuyNow has hardly been good at, it is maintaining the software in the Moto 360. In six months, the smartwatch has not received a single major update. And that, of course, is to the great annoyance of many users.

Thankfully, it has finally started to move a bit and today the rollout of Wear OS H-MR2 has begun to Moto 360.

With Wear OS H-MR2, the Moto 360 gets better 4G / LTE support, performance improvements, a simpler pairing process and many more news. It is simply a real update.

The update is not exclusive to the Moto 360. It has been available on other models from, for example, Fossil and Suunto for several months. With that said, there are not overwhelmingly many who have been updated to Wear OS H-MR2 per se – not yet.

It is worth mentioning that the Moto 360 uses the old Snapdragon Wear 3100. So you do not get all the benefits that the newer Snapdragon Wear 4100 offers, with or without the update. We know that eBuyNow is working on at least one new smartwatch with Qualcomm’s newer system circuit, but when it will be is not clear.
