Huawei has fought against the US to lift the blacklist, but unfortunately the US seems stubborn and maintains it.
There had been some hope that Huawei would no longer be blacklisted now that Donald Trump is away from his presidency. but unfortunately not, now there is new information from the new US Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, who says that they have no plans whatsoever to abolish Huawei if blacklisted.
Raimondo says more specifically:
“I currently have no reason to believe that entities on those lists should not be there.”
It’s a bit sad, Huawei continues to impress with its hardware, but having its phones without the Google apps feels almost a bit pointless and hopes that the US will at least let go of the Google apps soon.
