New Mac Mini can be released this summer – new Apple processor & 64GB RAM

It is rumored that Apple is planning a new, upgraded Mac Mini with a ten-core processor and twice as many ports as previous Mini models.

The Bloomberg website reports on the new top model in the Mac Mini series. The site writes that it – unsurprisingly – is Apple’s proprietary processor that sits under the chassis.

As with the previously rumored Macbook Pro model with Apple’s new ten-core processor, the new Mac Mini will be able to use up to 64 GB of RAM. A welcome increase from a maximum of 16 GB in previous models.

And as mentioned above, the number of ports should have increased (which the Macbook Pro is also expected to get) with two extra USB-C / Thunderbolt.

Apple currently has three Mac Mini models in their official online store.

The two cheaper models use the Apple M1 processor and cost US$999.00 to US$1,249.00 respectively. These two are not expected to make any changes.

The new Mac Mini is expected to replace the latest Intel model

It is the third and most expensive, Intel-equipped model that is expected to be completely replaced by Apple’s upcoming upgrade. The Intel model has a Core i5 processor that is six-core and it costs from SEK 13,495 today.

Does this mean you have to wait to buy a Mac Mini?

It depends on what you are going to use it for. If you want a small and powerful computer today, you can definitely invest in an Apple M1-equipped Mac Mini.

For ordinary office and school work as well as simpler image and video editing, they work excellently.

If, on the other hand, you want a professional machine for heavier work and more demanding situations, it can be good to wait for the new model.
