Paint 3D and 3D Viewer are now disappearing from Windows 10

Microsoft has announced that Paint 3D and 3D Viewer will be removed from Windows 10. The apps were introduced in 2017 with the Windows 10 Creators Update, but never gained any momentum among users.

And the reason is simple. There is no easy way to make 3D models, especially for printing. And Paint 3D and 3D Viewer have never been the optimal way to do it.

Therefore, we now say goodbye to the apps in Windows 10. As of Build 21332, it is no longer included right from the start. However, you can still download them through the Microsoft Store.

”3D Viewer and Paint 3D will no longer be preinstalled on clean installs of the latest Insider Preview builds. Both apps will still be available in the Store and will stay on your device after an OS update. So, if you upgraded your PC like normal, you should not see these apps changed in your app list. ”

At the same time, Microsoft hides the apps’ 3D Objects folder on your hard drive. Note, it is not deleted but only made invisible to the normal user.

Other details that reveal in Build 21332 is that the update removes the Math Input Panel because, like Paint 3D and 3D Viewer, it is not used very often by users. You can read more about all the news on Microsoft’s official website here.
