The gaming studio revealed support for cross games earlier in early June and only weeks later, cross games were activated on a global level. You can install / start Overwatch and run directly.

Progress is not transferred to other platforms
What you need to keep in mind is that all your progress on one platform will not be automatically transferred if you play on others.
So you can be at the silver level and have all the looks on your PC, but when you log in to your Battle.net account on your Playstation, there is no progress from your gaming computer.
