See air quality (AQI) in the weather app with iOS 14.7 & iPadOS 14.7

Apple is introducing support for air quality in the weather app. With iOS 14.7, support comes to users in several countries – something that has already existed in the US for a long time.

The website 9to5mac announces that they have found clear references in the beta versions of iOS 14.7 and iPadOS 14.7 which indicate that air quality can be displayed in the weather app in several countries.

Displays the Air Quality Index from 0 to 500

These are France, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands and Spain in the first instance. But it would not be inconceivable that our Nordic countries will soon be covered.

When you can see air quality in the weather app, you get a quality value called the Air Quality Index (AQI). It is between 0 and 500, and the higher the value the worse the air quality.

The air quality is also displayed as a colored scale so that you can quickly see the level where you are. The same information is displayed on Apple Maps where the feature is supported.

It is unclear today when iOS 14.7 and iPadOS 14.7 will be released. It will probably happen sometime during the month of June or July.
