Sony Playstation VR 2 will be delayed until 2022 at the earliest

If you had hoped that the Playstation VR 2 would be released for Christmas this year, you will unfortunately have to wait at least another year before the new headset is released.

The first Playstation VR was launched in 2016 and quickly became popular for PS4 and PS4 Pro, but for some reason no major game titles were ever released for the headset that made you really want it.

Maybe this can be different with Playstation VR 2 which we already know is under development when Sony showed off the brand new handsets for the headset.
This was shown in March this year and then many have speculated that Sony may aim to release Playstation VR 2 just in time for Christmas sales in 2021.

But that does not seem to be the case at all as Sony now announces that they have no plans to launch Playstation VR 2 2021 but instead aim for 2022, the reason is that they are not completely finished with the headset and have little left to work on and probably you also want to succeed in building a warehouse when it comes to that can take its time.

What we know Playstation VR 2 will probably offer according to leaked specifications is that we get high-resolution screens with a resolution of 2,000 x 2,040 pixels per eye, eye tracking technology, a wider field of view and built-in sensors that will help in various ways.

According to the information, these small screens will come from Samsung and it will then be about OLED panels, this differs a bit from today’s VR headsets from HTC and Oculus (Facebook), among others, as they use LCD panels.

It will be interesting to see how and what Playstation VR 2 has to offer us just in time for the Christmas trade 2022.
