Sonos Arc is a really good-sounding soundbar that (thankfully for its price) has plenty of power even without a subwoofer and rear speakers
Built into the s Arc is a set of eleven speaker elements, two of which are facing upwards for Dolby Atmos. This allows the sound to bounce off the ceiling so that you get the feeling that the sound is coming from above.
Notably, the Sonos Arc does not have the included rear speakers that support Dolby Atmos. So you get traditional surround sound WITHOUT rear asupport if you connect, for example, the Sonos One SL for a more complete home theater sound.
It can be compared to the Samsung HW series whose rear speakers have both forward and upward speakers. It gives a slightly sharper experience in Dolby Atmos movies, at least in theory.
