Nvidia has announced that RTX 3060 will be released on February 25. And the availability will – just like with the previous models in the RTX series – be very limited.
This is the first model in the RTX 3000 series that does not have a so-called Founders Edition model from Nvidia. So you need to buy an OEM like Asus, Gigabyte and MSI.

The RTX 3060 is the worst performing graphics card in the RTX 3000 series. At the same time, it is also the cheapest so far, with an approximate price of around 329 USD, or approximately 3,650 kronor in Sweden.
With a lower level of performance, OEMs have managed to make models with both one and two fans. It is thus possible to create really compact graphics cards for even super small Mini ITX chassis.
The RTX 3060 uses the GA106 system circuit with the Ampere architecture. There are 3,584 CUDA cores, which is 26 percent less than its big brother RTX 3060 Ti and as much as 39 percent less than RTX 3070. A significant difference in performance.
If we look at the computing power of gigaflops, the performance differs enormously. The RTX 3060 stays at 12,738 GFLOPS where the sibling models have 16,197 and 20,313 GFLOPS respectively. A difference of 21 percent and 37 percent, respectively.
Where RTX 3060 Ti is a really stable graphics card for gamers running in 1080p, we ask ourselves how well RTX 3060 will perform.
This is hardly a card you want in 4K or 1440p, and if you want to play newer, more graphics-heavy games in 1080p, we wonder if you do not have to turn down the graphics settings both one and two steps. Reviews in 2021 may show where the card lands.
