Playing PC games or console games on a TV requires a place to sit. Many people use a sofa, a La-Z-Boy, or a dining room chair, but the dedicated best gaming chairs offer superior comfort. It is comfortable, sturdy, and designed with gamers in mind.

When you’re building the best gaming PC, finding the best gaming chairs might not seem like a priority, but it really should be. This is a great time of year to catch a bargain too as there are sales everywhere.

Seriously, your back will thank you for checking out these options. Getting the best gaming chairs can really make a difference to your experience. Besides being made with premium materials that make gaming more enjoyable, the likes of added lumbar support help to improve your posture and give your spine a rest.

You can also adjust the height, tilt, and more with the best gaming chairs, and pair them with the best gaming desks for the perfect gaming and work setup.

Our team has compiled a list of recommendations that will point you in the right direction – these are some of the best gaming chairs money can buy right now. We’ve also scoured the web for the best deals, and these are updated on a daily basis.

Why Is a Chair A Gaming Chair?

At first glance, the best gaming chairs don’t look all that much different from desk chairs. They have a backrest that extends high enough to rest your head on, large armrests, and rotating bases (with one exception: the stationary Respawn-900 Gaming Recliner). You’ve probably seen “executive” office chairs that look pretty similar to gaming chairs. However, gaming chairs have a few important differences.

The color and design options of gaming chairs are generally broader than those of office chairs. Most office chairs are dark and earthy in color and have more traditional seat designs. Some gaming chairs are even branded with superheroes or e-sports teams or movies or TV shows. Even though gaming chairs are typically black, they have plenty of eye-catching accents to stand out. Game chairs’ seats are also modeled after racing chairs used in simulators, so you’re more likely to find bucket seats than frumpy armchairs.

A second benefit of gaming chairs is that they are much more adjustable. All of the models I’ve tested have height and tilt adjustments, just like office chairs. But they go a step further with armrests you can pivot, slide, and move up and down.

There’s no doubt you spent time and money buying the right gaming keyboard, gaming mouse, and maybe even other accessories that are supposed to give you the edge (not to mention the gaming PC itself). However, few people pay much attention to the chair they sit in.

Gaming chairs are becoming increasingly popular, and here we’ve rounded up our pick of the best gaming chairs in 2023. If you’re on the hunt for a deal, take a look at the best gaming chair deals for 2021.

  • Recliner Angle: 90 – 170 °

GT Racing Music GT890M features speakers built into its bolsters, while belonging to their Music series lineup. As you would guess from the name, it is aimed at music enthusiasts. The GT890M and all products in this line include built in speakers for maximum sound immersion.

While most people associate gaming with impressive visuals and graphics, what is often neglected is audio. While there are some incredible gaming headphones available for people to use, wearing a pair continuously for long hours can be tiring. Two speakers are found on each bolster, right next to the ears of the person sitting on it.

Using Bluetooth, the speakers can be paired to your computer wirelessly and give you a surround sound experience without the need for headphones. This works great for videos and games, as well as for casual activities like listening to music or movies.

Besides that, the chair retains all the features we saw in the GT099 earlier, including the incredible 170° recline angle. The 300lb weight capacity, and the comfortable premium PU leather upholstery. For 159.99, it seems to be a good deal.

3. BraZen Puma

Item Dimensions LxWxH:

If you are looking for the best gaming chair but don’t want to break the bank, Brazen is a superb place to start. Brazen offers the best combination of quality gaming chairs and affordable price points, and they only cost a fraction of the price many other chairs do.

It’s fitting to conclude that the Brazen Puma is as good as it gets, despite its short stature. There’s no doubt that it’s superbly made and that it passes the comfort test, as it’s made with pleather and mesh over foam.

Most importantly, it is very easy to assemble. The Puma took me far less time to assemble than the likes of an Andaseat or Noblechairs unit, a welcome bonus.

Although the brand is a bit much, the Brazen Puma is one of the best gaming chairs for those who want to save money without sacrificing comfort.

4. Noblechairs ICON Gaming Chair

noblechairs ICON Gaming Chair noblechairs ICON Gaming Chair – Office Chair – Desk Chair – PU Faux Leather – Color:

Item Dimensions LxWxH:
26.38 x 27.17 x 53.94 inches
amazon-png $429.99 VIEW

This elegant offering from Noblechairs is the right option if you have the budget for it. Designed both as an office chair and a gaming chair, it will handle a day at work or a World of Warcraft session comfortably thanks to its superior materials.  It feels classy since it avoids garish colors and bucket seats.

The Noblechairs Hero offers a firm back and seat for improved posture. Since the arm rests can be adjusted to fit you, it should fit most setups. Just remember that it is bigger than you may think. As a result, it gives off a sense of reliability sturdiness.

If you’re looking for a flashy chair with lots of fancy features, the Hero might not be for you. However, if you’re looking for a dependable chair that’ll last for years and help out your back, the Hero might be the best gaming chair available.

5. AndaSea T-Pro 2 – Best fabric-covered gaming chair

AndaSea T-Pro 2 Gaming Chair, andaseaT T-Pro II Ergonomic Racing Computer Game Chair Adjustable Armrest Swivel Rocker Recliner Office Chair with High-end Leather,Headrest and Lumbar Pillow E-Sports Chair-Black

Grey, Blue, Black

Item Dimensions LxWxH:
19.8 x 20.5 x 47.8 inches
amazon-png $499.99 VIEW

With its linen fabric fabric covering the majority of the seat’s base and back, the T-Pro 2 stands out from most other chairs in our chart. In a world of PVC faux-leather gaming chairs, the material change is a notable departure. In addition to being more aesthetically pleasing than a cotton finish, linen is also far kinder on your skin.

The chairs sport the same bucket seat design as the company’s racing seat designs built for BMW and Mercedes Benz, but without the flair or gaudiness typically associated with “gaming gear”.

These black plastic “4D” armrests offer an outstanding level of adjustment, the height is completely adjustable, and the backrest reclines between 90 and 160 degrees. Which should make it easy to find a position that works for your body posture.

Both the lumbar support cushion and the headrest pillow are wrapped in black, but the lumbar pillow just rests against the inside of the chair’s back without being fastened. Therefore, it’ll likely fall off when the chair isn’t being used. The neck pillow uses an elasticized strap with a side release buckle to stay in place.

Several things need to be considered before choosing this particular chair from AndaSeat’s portfolio, including whether you’re a tall enough to ride it. Based on the super king-sized frame, the company recommends it for people measuring between 180cm and 210cm.

However, if you’re a little on the short side, the T-Pro 2 is still a very comfortable chair. Where those of shorter stature might notice difficulties is with the armrest placement and the neck pillow.

6. Nitro Concepts S300 – Best cheap fabric-covered chair

Nitro Concepts S300 NITRO CONCEPTS S300 Gaming Chair – Radiant White – Office Chair – Ergonomic – Cloth Cover – Up to 300 lbs Users – 90° to 135° Reclinable – Adjustable Height & Armrests Color:
Grey, Blue, Red, White Radiant

Item Dimensions LxWxH:
22 x 22.5 x 50 inches
amazon-png $299.99 VIEW

Nitro Concepts’ S300, which is available from Overclockers UK for £229.99, is the next step up from the £145 C80, also featured in this roundup. Its first thing you’ll notice is the material it’s made from; while most gaming chairs are leather or pleather, the S300 features fabric upholstery.

It is also available in PU leather in a model called the S300EX for £10 more. Once you get over the fact that it attracts cat hair like a magnet, it offers a soft, comfortable seating experience. It’s available in seven colors, and the embroidery will even match the strips on the chair’s base. It’s the little details that make the chair shine.

You’ll find moulded cold foam underneath the fabric upholstery, which is softer and more breathable than the scraps used in budget gaming chairs from Amazon. The S300 has 130mm of height adjustment along with 14 degrees of rocking, so you can rock gently while gaming with it, using your body weight. It can also recline to 135 degrees, so it’s easy to take a quick nap during long gaming sessions.

Overall, the build quality is decent, although some of the arm rests can rattle a bit when knocked. Oh, and the white colour option is likely to get dirty rather quickly since it’s fabric.

7. AK Racing Core Series EX Gaming Chair

AKRacing Core Series EX Gaming Chair AKRacing Core Series eX SE Gaming Chair with High Backrest, Recliner, Swivel, Tilt, Rocker & Seat Height Adjustment Mechanisms, 5/10 Warranty – PC/Mac/Linux Color:
Black, Blue, Red,

Textile, Metal, Steel

Item Dimensions LxWxH:
19.69 x 26.77 x 50.39 inches
amazon-png $305.99 VIEW

The AK Racing Core Series EX proves that you don’t have to break the bank to own the best gaming chair. It features a sturdy metal frame and cosy foam, so it’ll hold up for years to come. When it comes to gaming chairs, AK is a trusted brand, so you know you’re getting a high-quality product.

If you can afford it, the Racing Core is worth spending more on. The build quality is a few steps above lower-cost models, and it includes the vital lumbar support. It also looks great with a more subdued, professional appearance. Additionally, you can choose from black, white, red and blue accents to go with its pleather surface.

Like many other suggestions on our list of the best gaming chairs, the Racing Core also has adjustable armrests and the ability to alter the height, tilt, and the seat itself.

8. Dowinx Gaming Chair – Best budget gaming chair

Dowinx Gaming Chair Dowinx Gaming Chair Office Desk Chair with Massage Lumbar Support, Vintage Style Armchair PU Leather E-Sports Gamer Chairs with Retractable Footrest (Ivory) Color:
Black, Blue, Red, Ivory,

Item Dimensions LxWxH:
23 x 20 x 55 inches
amazon-png $239.99 VIEW

Currys PC World exclusive, the Dowinx gaming chair provides an authentic gaming experience without breaking the bank.

Given the name, it’s easy to see why the design evokes a sports car. Specifically, the patterned fabric and bright orange trim really make it pop.

It provides plenty of comfort, particularly in the heat of battle on Destiny 2, and we can see it being effective across a wide range of games.

A more expensive chair might provide a slightly luxurious experience, but we had no trouble using the ADX Race19 for extended periods of time.

While it can support users up to 130kg, height might be more of a stumbling block. Some of our taller members determined that the detachable neckrest was too short for them.

For a more relaxed gaming experience, the ADX Race19 also reclines about 90 degrees. Some of the rest of the features are also on higher-end desk chairs, but that’s by no means a bad thing. These include the height and tilt adjustment as well as 360-degree rotation.

It is designed to pair well with other ADX Gaming products, providing gamers with an affordable way to get a complete gaming setup. This chair proves that upgrading your gaming experience doesn’t have to cost hundreds of pounds.

9. DXRacer Racing Series

DXRacer Racing Series DXRacer Racing Series OH/RAA106/N Office Gaming Chair Color:

Strong Mesh,PU

Item Dimensions LxWxH:
27 x 21 x 50 inches
amazon-png $289.99 VIEW

This is a far roomier product that is every bit as supportive and cosy as the competition; it’s clear that DXRacer has realised that one size (thank goodness) does not fit all.

Besides the Classic Series’s larger, broader silhouette, it also features an exceptionally supportive, segmented back. The frame’s built with a cushioned headrest, while the aluminum base is long-lasting, and the leather-style vinyl cover provides ample adjustability.

The chair’s looks inspire confidence, meaning it should survive many years of gaming, into the PS5 / Xbox Series X era and beyond.

10. Noblechairs Epic Gaming Chair- Best vegan leather chair

noblechairs Epic Gaming Chair noblechairs Epic Gaming Chair – Office Chair – Desk Chair – PU Hybrid Leather – Java Edition

Java Edition

Faux  Leather

Item Dimensions LxWxH:
22 x 22 x 52 inches
amazon-png $469.99 VIEW

Noblechairs has a new material for its line of gaming chairs. Available on its Icon, Hero and – reviewed here – Epic gaming chairs, the leather-like hybrid material offers the benefits of both PVC and PU without sacrificing any cows, making it all 100% vegan.

Even though it looks (but does not smell) like napa leather, thanks to the micropores, it’s air and water permeable which means you don’t feel hot or sweaty after long gaming sessions.

In addition to the Titan, the Epic is a large chair best suited to taller gamers. The seat base is wide and accommodating, while the gas lift helps raise it high enough to be comfortable if you’re shorter than 5ft7.

In addition to height adjustment, the Epic tilts back up to 140 degrees and has a lock to keep it positioned in place. The Black Edition’s 4D armrests have metal buttons and softer padding (though still firm). They are more customisable than most models. Additionally, they swivel in and out.

On the other hand, cheaper chairs use plastic, the Epic has a metal base and quiet 60mm castors. Unfortunately, the support is provided by a pillow that is likely too thick to be much use: we prefer the in-built, automotive-style adjustments in the Hero chair (and in Secretlab’s Titan).

If you’re looking for a gaming chair for use with a sim rig, this is a good option. It also has harness holes if you want to actually strap yourself in.

Minimalist-Fancy vs. Conventional

There’s been the traditional overbuilt chair with backs that cover you up and above the shoulders, and levers for reclining. They’re big chairs, management chairs. But there are alternatives available if you’re willing to pay more.

Various chairs for gaming are also available, including one from Herman Miller (in collaboration with Logitech). Herman Miller X Logitech G Embody, as well as Mavix, make up a new wave of stylish, high-end gaming chairs that offer a sleeker, smaller look and ergonomic adjustments to make sure the few parts that do hit your back are placed just right. It’s comfortable and well-made, but it’s also generally much more expensive than conventional gaming chairs. Expect to spend at least $550, and up to $1,500.

Taking a look at the competition

One of the most important factors to consider when shopping for a gaming chair is size. Gamers have wildly varied body types, and most manufacturers make chairs specifically designed for different body types.

A standard gaming chair usually supports a maximum weight of 240 to 300 pounds, but larger, heavier chairs can support up to 450 pounds. Seat dimensions can vary several inches in width and depth, leading to an uncomfortable chair if you buy one that’s too big or small.

Seat depth and width, armrest height and range, and other measurements can all affect how a chair will feel to you. If you’re not sure about a given model, look at the measurements and compare them to your current chair.

Matters of Materials

The material matter is another important factor to consider—both what’s inside the chair and what’s wrapped around it. Most gaming chairs we’ve seen are made of polyurethane leather, a leather-like synthetic material, and dense foam for padding. This is the most common configuration for a gaming chair, but it’s not the only option. Some chairs have fabric shells, while others are made from genuine leather.

Almost all the chairs on this list are padded with foam, but the amount and placement of padding can vary. The seat is almost always solid, as it should be to support your weight, but the chair back varies. Both the AKRacing and DXRacer chairs we’ve tested heavily pad the back of the chair, while the Dowinx chairs pack their back with solid foam.

Buying guide for gaming chairs

In many ways, gaming chairs are no different from office chairs. They have height adjustment, castors for easy movement, and armrests. However, like most gaming hardware, gaming chairs are far more stylish, typically inspired by the bucket seats in racing cars.

What is and isn’t stylish is up to your personal taste, but what should you look for in a gaming chair?

The ergonomics

Basic chairs usually just have height adjustments, but it’s worth investing in a chair with a reclining back and adjustable armrests, too. It’s important to have a chair that supports your spine properly and adjusts to fit your body, rather than forcing it into a bad posture.

It is difficult to find chairs that follow a ‘one size fits all’ philosophy, so you must make sure the seat height adjustment range will suit you properly. If possible, try to find a store where you can sit in the chair before purchasing.

A chair’s comfort level will depend on how well you fit into it. We tested the chairs here with tall and short people, and both large and slim builds, but we cannot guarantee that it will be as comfortable for you.

You won’t necessarily get a better ergonomic chair if you spend more, so good ergonomics don’t have to be expensive.

There are chairs that come with removable cushions for the lumbar (back support) or headrest. An ergonomic chair shouldn’t need these, but some individuals may need them for the best fit and comfort.

The longevity of life

What you get if you spend more is better quality materials and construction. Although the price of some chairs can make you wince, a good-quality chair should last for years, if not a decade or more.

In the beginning, cheaper foam may feel okay, but it may soon lose its structure and support. On the other hand, high-quality foam will maintain its structure and support heavier users. Manufacturers should always indicate the weight limit for chairs.

PU leather, also known as faux leather or vegan leather, is essentially plastic that has an imitation leather-like texture. It’s not a terrible choice: readily available, easy to care for and not too expensive. Real leather, on the other hand, should last for much longer.

The suede-like material (or real suede leather) on some chairs isn’t as easy to clean, but has a softer feel that some people will prefer.

The warranty

Gaming chairs typically have gas struts for height adjustment, as well as other moving parts, so it’s possible something could go wrong. Although a longer warranty is better, make sure you know what the warranty covers.
