It can be good to remember how certain numbers were in the past. Where the focus was on the people having the freedom to live as they wish.
You can ask yourself, where have all the good politicians gone? We live on a planet where the people live in frustration that power is being transferred more and more to companies with the help of the government.
Nowadays we see how politicians want the people to trust them and not question so much.
How can one trust a government that does not listen to what the people want. We can see clearly in today’s society how the government turns its back on the people and only wants to cooperate with the big companies. A name for this is Fascism.
“The very word secrecy is disgusting in a free and open society. We are, as a people, naturally and historically against secret societies, oaths and approaches. We decided a long time ago that the danger of excessive and unwarranted overflowing of relevant facts far exceeds the danger of justifying this. Even today, there is little value in resisting the threat of a closed society by imitating arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in guaranteeing our nation’s survival if our traditions and way of life do not survive with this. And there is a serious danger in raising voices to announce the need for increased security, that those who do so are anxious to extend this to the extreme in the form of censorship and secrecy. As far as I can, I will oppose and not allow this.
Our way of life is under siege. Those who make ourselves our enemy advance around the world. Ours comrades’ survival is in danger. Nevertheless, no war has been declared; no borders have been crossed by marching troops; no missiles have been fired. If you are sitting and waiting for a ‘clear and distinct danger’, then I can only say that the danger has never been so clear and its presence has never been so imminent.
For we are opposed, all over the world, by a monolithic massively aligned and relentless conspiracy that relies on secret means to expand its sphere of influence; on infiltration instead of invasion; on overthrow instead of political elections; on threat instead of freedom to choose; on guerrilla at night instead of armies during the day. It is a system that has accumulated extensive human and material resources to construct a highly efficient machinery that combines military, diplomatic, economic, scientific and political activities as well as intelligence activities. Its preparations are hidden, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not titled. Its questioners are silent, not praised. No expense or waste is in question; no reputation is written down; no secret is revealed. It conducts the Cold War, in short, with a wartime discipline no democracy ever hopes or wishes to be able to compete with. This is a time of peace and danger that cannot be compared to any other time in history.
